Christian's stages

During the last 20 years I had had the chance to know the path of God, socially we know that like “being Christian”, and the bible itself says that Christ’s followers were called Christians for first time in Antioch.

By this I can describe some stages that I think that all who had grown in a local church could have lived.

1.      Church’s Kid

To repeat bible verses, wanting to participate in a play in front of church, search for verses quicker than others on Sunday school, not saying it is boring against Sunday school teacher because it is “sin”, etc.

If someone grew up from childhood in any church, you have to know that it’s true, during several years the church’s world is really small and limited to that kind of stuff, trying to be a god child and an example on church, and sadly the real service and love for God that a child can show, is limited by a short vision, most of time sponsored by a not so good Sunday school (of course there are exceptions)

2.      Struggled youth

Then comes the stage when the neighbors, classmates, the media, or sometimes strange events change the innocent point of view about life. Is the stage when curiosity and changes become real challenges, is when you want to try everything, and also you want to be treated and respected as a grown one, but not having any kind of responsibility, is the stage when in every youth group meeting we make pacts and faith prayers promising to earn the world for God, but the next Monday   we face a struggling high school apparently without the tools and capacity to live as God wants us to.

Charging and unfair blame that the “every Christian good behavior” put on church’s teenagers’ shoulders, that charge demands some “perfection” asked from white and black speeches, meanwhile the world offers “not so bad” things in every color and flavor that you can imagine, as shorter the time on this stage is better, I guess that you’re out of this stage when you let God and not religion to lead your life.

3.      Modern Christian

There is so many Christian people living on this stage, is when you get shielded in an underworld inside a church, no matter what denomination a modern Christian follows, he or she understands that what is about church is good, everything that is out is wrong, serves in church 7 days a week if is possible, going to meetings, leading, acting, singing, receiving people and anything that you can imagine to do.

The same church is the one that wants this, saying “is better to have the youth in church and not out”. Even when this quote is not precisely wrong, it gives path to a fake idea about accomplish God’s will, Modern Christians believes that serving God happens exclusively inside the church’s four walls, denying completely what Christ said on John 17:18, when He sent us to the world, so the world can listen about God and become to salvation for our real service as Children of God.

4.      Son of God

For us to live as Sons or daughters of God, we have to take Christianity out of church, serve the one in need, apply absolutely everything that the bible teaches us, and not being locked into ideas and theologies inside four walls, we have to communicate life to every human being that doesn’t know God
